Elba Island can be reached by boarding a ferry from Piombino Marittima, where four shipping companies (Toremar, Blu Navy, Moby Lines, and Corsica Ferries) operate comfortable ferries that run several times a day. The approximately 10-kilometer crossing from the mainland to the island takes just one hour, reaching the ports of Portoferraio (the main port), Cavo, and Rio Marina. Alternatively, there is a fast hydrofoil connection, for passenger transport only, that reaches Portoferraio in just 35 minutes.

From the North: from Milan, take the A1 motorway and merge onto the A15 at Parma Ovest to reach the A12 Genoa-Livorno motorway. At Rosignano, continue on the S.G.S. to Venturina-Isola d’Elba and from there to Piombino Marittima.

From the Northeast: A1 Bologna-Florence-Pisa-Livorno motorway: At Rosignano, continue on the S.G.S. to Venturina-Isola d’Elba and from there to Piombino Marittima. Alternatively, take the S.G.C. Florence-Pisa-Livorno motorway: exit at Firenze Scandicci and follow the S.G.S. to Collesalvetti, rejoin the motorway until Rosignano Marittimo, take the expressway to Venturina-Isola d’Elba and from there to Piombino Marittima.

From the South: A12 Rome-Grosseto motorway: S.S. Aurelia exit Venturina-Isola d’Elba, continue towards Piombino Marittima.

Elba Island is connected to the mainland by various flights during the summer season operated by Italian and international airlines.

The airports serving the island are Milan, Pisa, Florence, Lugano, Zurich, Bern, Munich, Hamburg, Berlin, and Vienna.

The airport is located in La Pila, approximately 3 km from our hotel.
